What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage therapists are trained to assess and treat muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue and treat injuries and soreness.
They employ a variety of treatments for use in pain management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions, postural conditions, sporting and occupational injuries. They should hold at least a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
To determine where to treat patients effectively, remedial therapists must have a working knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.A typical remedial massage session must involve a thorough patient consultation and assessment to determine the patient’s health status.
The goal of remedial massage is to help the body return to normal health after injury by reasonably reversing certain physical effects suffered as a result of moderate injury causing structural pain and/or lost mobility or function. The treatment is designed to remediate the given condition by reducing or eliminating pain and restoring function.

Cupping Therapy

The process of cupping involves creating a vacuum on the skin with cups. The vacuum effect works to increase blood flow and draw up blood, which may have sat dormant over time. This helps to move any toxins from the system and promote healing to the area, whilst also influencing connective tissues and lymphatic drainage in the area applied.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage is an application of massage or myotherapy, not a particular technique.

The type of massage technique or treatment applied is dependent on the nature of the stage of training or competition, sports injury or condition, and the assessment of the client.

Sports therapy massage involves the objective assessment and treatment of amateur and elite athletes alike, focusing on prevention and treatment of sports-related conditions.

Sports therapy massage is used to help prepare athletes before competition, both physically and psychologically, as well as assist in subsequent recovery from training and competition.

Renee’s massages and cupping are amazing, I get great results and it’s so relaxing. Renee works within my medical conditions and takes time before each massage to get updates on any changes. Highly recommend Renee for massages.
